What Are The Benefits Of Conditioning Treatments/Masques?
January 12, 2014
Well the first month of summer is underway here in Bondi Junction
and despite this mixed unsettled weather we can be assured the sun and it’s heat are coming. One thing we strongly advise for our clients is a weekly conditioning treatment/masque.So this month we answer this commonly asked question: What is a masque, what does it do and do you need one?A masque (aka a treatment or conditioning treatment) is designed to protect, nourish and restore your hair to its optimum condition. The scalp naturally nourishes hair that is close to the root. Hair that is longer than a couple of inches requires conditioner every time it is shampooed to replenish what the scalp would normally provide.By the time hair has grown to the shoulders it is well over a year old and this is where we suggest conditioning treatments.
Using the correct shampoo and conditioner is necessary for every day protection and health of your hair. But as our hair ages, so too does the quality. Depending on the condition of the hair also depends on which treatment your hair requires. So how do you choose which one is best for you? Your hair salon will have lots to choose from but your hairdresser will guide you as to what is suited for you. The most popular types of treatments are:
Protein which strengthen the hairMoisture which helps rehydrate hairPro-Keratin Refill helps to repair and rebuild hairWe also have In-Salon treatments (exclusive for hairdressers) which are more intensive treatments which we don’t sell over the counter. These have the same properties as the home treatments that you can purchase but have a stronger consistency of either protein, moisture or Pro-Keratin
Also now available in salon is the Powerdose Vitamino Color Protect which gives a gloss coating to protect your colour
